I've been touched by the amount of sympathetic reactions I've had on the news of the house I can now consider my own! Thanks to all. The last few weeks have been spent doing the things I described in the last blog. Quite the hassle. If there's any way you can avoid it, I would strongly recommend not moving. Strongly. And don't take my life as any kind of example, whatsoever. Well, by now I've painted everything, moved, managed to find new spots for many things, and today I biked my first mini tour of a part of the neighborhood! The streets surrounding my house are very inspiring, the larger area nearby is not. Tonight will be my very first night sleeping all alone in my new house. Exciting...!

It´s pretty much the only thing I´m doing these days: traveling to and from my new house, making decisions about paint and colors and how much money to spend, watching others prepare and paint, sleeping on a little inflatable mattress at my new house, packing all the stuff at the place I´m living at now. I didn´t know I had managed to fit SO much stuff into these few square meters. Here below I have a map of the new place. Very exciting I know, I´m trying out some features here :) It´s in the Landbouwstraat, e-mail me if you´d like the exact number. It´s in an area called `betondorp`, literally `cement village`, but I tell people it´s more village than cement. It hardly feels like Amsterdam, and I can´t say I really mind. It took a while, but here it finally is: a new blog. Yessir. I'm excited you found the site, please feel free to leave a comment! I'm on weebly.com and I must say, I like weebly a whole lot better than the Dutch 123website that I had before. A little more info: the top links and the archive section is pretty self-explanatory. If you want to be kept updated on changes I make, you can scroll down to RSS feed on the right and click on it. There's not anything to click under 'my book', seeing as the book doesn't actually exist yet. I hope this will soon change, of course.
I'll be trying out stuff here so the format might differ, but don't worry. It's still me here :) |
Mattanja OosterhuisHaving grown up in diverse places on earth, I suppose I've learned to make the best of what comes my way. Such as a hemorrhage. After this bleeding in my head occurred in dec. 2010, my life has come to look different. On my blog I write about some of this. Archives
