It's been over a month since my last post, and of course I could tell about much. Such as, about the fireworks we watched around the 4th of July which always make me feel very nationalistic (even if the USA isn't my country). Or about our trip and wonderful stay with family in Canada, and the totally bizarre sight of religious people going around in buggies drawn by horses. The problem of surplus horse poop seems to me much simpler than the CO2 problem. I could talk about the wedding of my brother (see more pics on facebook), about being a bridesmaid and just really appreciating this special day. Or of course I could jabber about the time since then, where the preparation stress ended and I spent a few lovely days with friends of the family we stayed with. Unfortunately, none of the above. After a small drama at Chicago Airport we flew right back to Holland and it is here that I've been ever since. In celebration of my return to the familiar, I jumped on my carrier cycle and biked to our beautiful lake of the IJsselmeer. I have to admit, I'm happy to be back. I think the world traveling Mattanja was left at the hospital 3.5 years ago. I'll probably become one of those people for who the furthest she goes, is vacation to the south of France.

Mattanja OosterhuisHaving grown up in diverse places on earth, I suppose I've learned to make the best of what comes my way. Such as a hemorrhage. After this bleeding in my head occurred in dec. 2010, my life has come to look different. On my blog I write about some of this. Archives
